Our 48,000 BTU models, like the commercial-grade propane heater, are designed to cover up to 200 square feet — making them well-suited for mid-to-large patios, decks, and open-air dining areas. For smaller spaces, our standard propane models still deliver strong, consistent warmth across a typical backyard seating area.
Most freestanding propane patio heaters are designed for open or semi-open outdoor use with adequate ventilation — they are not intended for fully enclosed spaces. We recommend checking the clearance requirements listed in each product's specifications before placing a heater under a covered structure. When in doubt, our anti-tilt safety models add an extra layer of protection for uneven or elevated surfaces.
Our propane patio heaters are compatible with standard 20 lb propane cylinders, which are widely available at most hardware and home improvement stores.
